Eric joined StormHarbour in January 2012 as a Principal and Senior Adviser after 37 years in the global banking and financial services industry largely with Citigroup and Lloyds Banking Group. Eric was formerly Group Chief Executive of Lloyds Banking Group, the FTSE 100 listed banking group that was formed following Lloyds TSB's acquisition of HBOS plc in 2009. Prior to this, he was Group Chief Executive of Lloyds TSB, a position he took up in June 2003. Eric joined Lloyds in 2001, when he was appointed to the Board as Group Executive Director with responsibility for the retail banking division. Eric began his career with Citibank (Citigroup today) where he spent 25 years and held a number of key managerial positions in a range of businesses and countries. These include Chairman and CEO of Travellers Life and Annuity; Chief Operating Officer of Citibank Consumer Bank; Regional Head, Citibank Consumer Bank Europe (based in Brussels); President of Citibank FSB in San Francisco; Division Executive of Citibank Private Bank for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In addition, Eric was previously also Country Head, Argentina, and Country Head of Chile, and Branch Network Director, Argentina. He joined Citibank through their graduate programme and held a number of appointments in Panama during his early years. Eric received a Master of Science in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1975 and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Cornell University, which he gained in 1973. Eric holds a number of other positions and is currently a Senior Adviser to CVC Capital Partners, a Non-Executive director of Russell Reynolds Associates, a Board Member of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and a Trustee of the Smithsonian UK Charitable Trust.
